A very late response:) but wanted to say very well-written and argued, as usual. You should write more often in the mainstream media..consider a side job as a journalist ( a responsible one: very few around reporting on wildlife issues).

Reminds me of one apparently famous correspondent of Deccan Herald who called me up and asked me to comment on the statement that "the increasing number of birdwatchers has caused the decline of the sparrow"
